About 4-H

4-H clubs encourage youth, ages 5 to 19, to learn by doing. 4-H programs actively involve youth in quality experiences that focus on lifelong learning of values and skills. There are a variety of 4-H clubs and groups that young people can join.

Youth that want to join horse 4-H they don’t have to have a horse. This is called the horseless program. In this program youth still learn the same thing as the youth who have horses.

Record Book Cheers and Clinic Dates

We wanted to give a huge round of applause to all 55 4-H’ers who completed and handed in their Record Books for the 2023-2024 4-H year! Everyone did an amazing job and it was a pleasure for the 4-H Washoe county staff to look through them and see everyone’s hard work.
New to Record Books or need a refresher? The Washoe County 4-H staff will be hosting a few Record Book Working sessions in 2025 and they would love to have you join them! There will be laptops,
project record packets, record book covers for purchase, and staff on hand to answer questions and provide clarification.
Working sessions will happen at the Washoe County 4-H office (4955 Energy Way, Reno, NV, 89502) on the following dates:
• Thursday, January 16, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
• Monday, February 10, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
• Thursday, March 13, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
